Removal, & Installation: Assembly

  1. To assembly steering column, reverse above procedure, noting the following: When installing turn signal switch, engage locating tab on switch with notch in steering column. Install upper bushing with flat side facing upper end of column. Install cancelling cam with tangs up.
  2. With steering column assembled (horn assembly not installed), measure distance from top of steering column to top of steering shaft. Distance should be 0.55 - 0.72" (16.5 - 17.5 mm). If distance not to specifications, steering column and/or steering shaft are damaged. Also check for proper assembly.
