Steering Column: Installation
- Connect lower steering shaft splines with universal joint on upper steering shaft. On A/T equipped models, turn ignition switch to ACC position. Connect shift lock cable to ignition switch. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position and tighten cable clamp screw.
- On all models, install steering column upper and lower mount nuts. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install universal joint bolt and tighten to specification.
- Install clockspring coil/combination switch (if removed). See CLOCKSPRING COIL & COMBINATION SWITCH. Reconnect steering column wiring harness connectors. Install knee bolster. Install steering wheel and air bag inflator module (if removed). See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG INFLATOR MODULE and STEERING WHEEL. Connect negative battery cable and enable air bag system.
