Cylinder Block

  1. Using feeler gauge and straightedge, check cylinder block head surface warpage. If warpage exceeds specification, correct as necessary. See CYLINDER BLOCK  under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS.
  2. Check cylinder bore wear and taper. Cylinder bore diameter is measured 1.96" (50 mm) from top of cylinder bore, and 3.74" (95 mm) from top of cylinder bore. Different sized cylinder bores are used.
  3. Cylinder bore can be identified by "1" or "2" stamped on deck surface in accordance with cylinder location. See Figure . Bore cylinder block if taper exceeds specification. See CYLINDER BLOCK  under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS.
