SRS Coil: Removal

  1. Ensure front wheels are facing straight ahead. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disable SRS system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
  2. Remove steering wheel. See STEERING WHEEL & AIR BAG MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Remove upper and lower steering column covers. Disconnect hood release from knee bolster. Remove knee bolster from instrument panel.
  3. Remove tape and separate SRS coil harness from combination switch harness. Unplug SRS coil harness connector. Remove 4 screws retaining SRS coil, and remove SRS coil from combination switch.
