Removal & Installation

  1. Relieve fuel system pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Siphon or pump fuel from tank through filler neck tube.
  2. Remove rear seat cushion to gain access to wiring. Disconnect fuel tank sending unit and fuel pump wiring harness connectors. Push connectors through grommet in floor.
  3. Raise and support vehicle. Disconnect all fuel tank hoses. Support fuel tank and remove mounting straps and bolts. Lower and remove tank from vehicle. Disconnect wires and fuel hose from fuel pump assembly. Remove 6 screws and remove fuel pump assembly from tank. Remove fuel pump strainer and fuel pump from fuel pump assembly. To install, reverse removal procedure.
