Fuel Injector (TBI): Removal
- Relieve fuel system pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor connector. Disconnect PCV hose from air cleaner and remove air cleaner assembly and mounting bracket. Remove injector cover and upper insulator. See Figure.
- Remove 2 screws and injector cover with electrical connector from TBI. See Figure. Slide injector harness grommet from throttle body, and remove injector.
NOTE:
It is important to replace a fuel injector with an identical part. Injectors may look alike but are calibrated for different flow rates and are NOT interchangeable.
