Activating System

  1. Ensure ignition is in LOCK position and air bag fuse is removed. Ensure all air bag system components are correctly installed.
  2. Reconnect passenger-side inflator module harness connector. Reconnect driver-side inflator module harness connector. Ensure connector lock lever is engaged.
  3. Install glove box and steering wheel access cover. Re-install air bag fuse to original location. Turn ignition on. Verify AIR BAG warning light flashes 7 times then goes out. If warning light does not operate as described, perform air bag system check. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article for 1996 models only.
