DTC 47 - Left Front Motor Free Spins: Notes
NOTE:
For circuit and connector terminal identification, see WIRING DIAGRAM
.
EBCM can detect a stripped nut or gear assembly during initialization. During the homing sequence, the piston should reach the top of the bore, resulting in a stalled motor. If this does not occur, the motor must be spinning with little or no resistance. This indicates a nut/screw or gear malfunction.
NOTE:
Test numbers refer to test numbers on diagnostic chart.
- Checks to see if the corresponding open motor DTC is also set.
- Verifies motor was actually applied as commanded by observing feedback current.
- Verifies motor can release.
- Verifies that motor can be applied by observing pedal movement.
- Checks for high resistance in motor low circuit. Tester J 39200 is a DVOM with a 10-megohm input impedance.
- Checks for high resistance in motor high circuit.
- Checks for proper resistance of motor.
- Checks for a stripped gear on the motor pack.
- Checks for stripped gear on the hydraulic modulator.
- Ensures that motor can be applied under a load situation.
- Checks for a faulty hydraulic modulator.
- Ensures malfunction is not due to poor terminal contact.
