Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV)

  1. Disconnect PCV valve with hose. Start engine and let idle. Place a finger over end of PCV valve and check for vacuum. If vacuum is present, go to next step. If vacuum is not present, check for clogged valve. Replace if necessary.
  2. Turn engine off. Remove PCV valve from hose. Shake valve and listen for rattle. Replace PCV valve if no rattle is heard.
