Tracker (1996 Models Equipped With 4-Speed Transmission Without Cruise Control)
With ignition on, voltage is applied to the Park/Neutral Position (PNP) switch. PNP switch contacts are closed only with gear selector lever in "P" position. With brake pedal depressed, voltage is applied through stoplight switch to the permanently grounded shift lock solenoid. In turn, solenoid energizes, allowing gear selector lever to be moved from the "P" position.
