Tracker (1996 Models Equipped With 4-Speed Transmission With Cruise Control)

Voltage is applied at all times to the stoplight switch. Voltage is also applied to the Park/Neutral Position (PNP) switch, which is closed only when gear selector lever is in the "P" position. When PNP switch contacts are closed, voltage is applied to the shift lock relay with ignition on. When brake pedal is depressed, voltage is applied to coil side of the shift lock relay, energizing it, allowing voltage to be supplied to the shift lock solenoid. Shift lock solenoid is permanently grounded, therefore it energizes and allows gear selector lever to be moved from "P" position.
