Fuel Rail & Injectors (SFI): Installation

  1. Install fuel pressure regulator to fuel rail and tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install NEW "O" ring and grommet to each injector. Lubricate new injector "O" rings with clean gasoline. Install injectors to fuel rail so that injector connectors will point upward. Install 4 NEW insulators and 2 spacers on intake manifold.
  2. Install fuel rail with injectors to intake manifold. DO NOT fully tighten bolts at this time. Ensure injectors rotate smoothly in injector bore. If injectors are tight and will not rotate smoothly, reinstall with NEW "O" rings. Tighten fuel rail-to-intake manifold bolts. Install fuel intake hose to fuel rail and tighten bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Refill engine cooling system.
