ABS Motor Re-Homing Procedure

  1. Raise and support vehicle so drive wheels are off the ground. Start engine and engage drive wheels. Operate to about 3 MPH for at least 10 seconds.
  2. Observe ABS indicator. Ensure indicator goes off in about 3 seconds. If ABS indicator stays on, diagnose malfunction before proceeding. If ABS indicator turns off, stop engine and repeat step 1) before proceeding to next step.
  3. Using Tech 1, enter manual control function and apply front and rear motors. The entire brake system should now be ready for bleeding. See BLEEDING PROCEDURES  . After bleeding system, go to next step.
  4. Turn ignition on. Depress brake pedal with moderate force and hold in position. Note pedal travel and feel. If pedal travel feels firm and constant, go to next step. If pedal feels soft or has excessive travel either initially or after starting engine, go to step 6).
  5. Start engine. Recheck pedal travel. If pedal is still firm and constant and travel is not excessive, road test vehicle. Make several normal (non-ABS) stops from moderate speed to ensure proper brake function.
  6. Using Tech 1, release then apply motors 3 times and cycle solenoids 10 times. Apply motors to ensure pistons are in the home position. Repeat bleeding procedure.
