Steering Column
NOTE:
Steering column and shaft is not serviced separately. DO NOT attempt to disassemble steering column assembly. Replace as a unit only.
If vehicle has been involved in a substantial collision, check steering column for collapse by measuring steering shaft. On Metro & Firefly (Canadian) with air bag, measure dimension "A". See Fig 1. If measurement is not within specification, replace steering column. See STEERING COLUMN LENGTH table. Also ensure upper steering column mount is not damaged and securely attached.
