Vehicle Speed Sensor

On A/T, Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) is mounted on transmission case. On M/T, VSS is integral with speedometer head. A malfunction in VSS circuit can set DTC P0500. For testing procedures, see TESTS W/CODES article. For identification of VSS terminals on M/T, See Fig 1.
