Throttle Position (TP) Sensor: Adjustment
NOTE:
Perform all testing procedures with engine at normal operating temperature.
CAUTION:
DO NOT use throttle stop screw to adjust throttle position sensor.
- Remove air cleaner. Loosen TP sensor retaining screws. Insert a.14" (3.5 mm) feeler gauge between throttle lever and stop screw. See Fig 1. Check if Idle Speed Control (ISC) motor plunger is contacting throttle lever screw. If ISC motor plunger is contacting throttle lever screw, bring engine to normal operating temperature.
- Connect scan tool to DLC and turn ignition on. Observe voltage on scan tool. If TP sensor voltage is not.98-1.02 volts, rotate TP sensor until voltage is as specified. Tighten TP sensor retaining screws to 18 INCH lbs. (2 N.m). Install air cleaner.
