Diagnosis & Repair

  1. If any MAP sensor DTCs are set, go to appropriate DTC test and diagnose them first. If no other DTCs are set, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition on. With scan tool connected to DLC, select CLEAR INFORMATION function. Operate vehicle within FREEZE FRAME conditions. If DTC P1451 resets, go to next step. If DTC P1451 does not reset, check for an intermittent problem. See TESTS W/O CODES article.
  3. Turn ignition on. Select MAP sensor parameter on scan tool. If MAP sensor (barometric pressure) display is approximately 14.5 psi (1.05 kg/cm2 ), replace PCM. Retest system.
