Ignition Signal

ECM/PCM provides 5 volts to the igniter. After processing this voltage, the igniter returns it back to ECM/PCM as an ignition fail-safe signal. ECM/PCM also receives a 0.7 volt ignition signal during starter operation. ECM/PCM uses both of these signals along with others, to determine when to energize fuel injectors.
