Intermittent Failures

Intermittent failures cause MIL to flicker or illuminate and then go out about 10 seconds after the intermittent fault goes away. The corresponding DTC, however, will be stored in ECM memory except DTCs 16, 43 and 51. Intermittent failures may be caused by faulty sensor, connector or wiring. See INTERMITTENTS in the TESTS W/O CODES - 1.6L article.
