Injector (TBI): Removal

  1. Relieve fuel system pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove air cleaner assembly and mounting bracket. Remove injector cover and upper insulator. See Figure.
  2. Remove 2 screws and injector cover with electrical connector from TBI. See Figure. Slide injector harness grommet from throttle body, and remove injector.
NOTE: It is important to replace a fuel injector with an identical part. Injectors may look alike but are calibrated for different flow rates.
