DTC A016 - Abs Enable Relay Coil Circuit Open: Notes
NOTE:
For circuit and connector terminal identification, see WIRING DIAGRAMS .
Ignition voltage is supplied through terminal No. 1 of the ABS enable relay. The EBCM engages pull-in coil of relay by completing the ground circuit at terminal No. 22 of the EBCM. This energizes relay windings, closing the internal contacts which supplies power to the motors and solenoids. DTC A016 can only set after DTC A014 has been set.
NOTE:
Test numbers refer to test numbers on diagnostic chart.
- Indicates if the EBCM is capable of controlling the ABS enable relay as commanded.
- Determines that there is continuity through the pull-in coil of the relay. Tester J 39200 is a DVOM with a 10-megohm input impedance.
- Checks that voltage is available to the pull-in coil of the relay.
- Checks continuity of circuit No. 6V01.
- Ensures DTC was not set due to a poor connection.
