Retrieving Codes
To retrieve stored RWAL trouble codes, release parking brake and ensure brake fluid level is okay. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Connect a jumper wire between terminals No. 3 and 5 of 10-pin RWAL diagnostic connector for longer than 2 seconds, then remove jumper wire. See Fig 4 . The 10-pin diagnostic connector is located under dash, behind RWAL EBCM.
Stored trouble codes are flashed by BRAKE warning light. Trouble codes consist of short flashes followed by one long flash signifying last flash of that code. Count both short flashes and long flash. Trouble codes will flash until ignition switch is turned to OFF position. Trouble code may be lost if ignition is turned to OFF position before trouble code is identified.
See RWAL TROUBLE CODES for identification and testing procedures. If more than one fault is present, only lowest number code will flash repeatedly until it is repaired and cleared from memory. If BRAKE warning light does not operate or self-diagnosis does not pinpoint fault, proceed to RWAL SYSTEM CHECK. See Fig 1 -Fig 3 .
