Reassembly & Installation

  1. To reassemble, reverse disassembly procedure. Tighten TBI body assembly screws to 31 INCH lbs. (3.5 N.m). To install, reverse removal procedure. Use new base gasket with no sealer.
  2. Tighten throttle body-to-manifold bolts to 17 ft. lbs. (23 N.m). Refill cooling system. On automatic transaxle models, adjust Throttle Position (TP) sensor. See THROTTLE POSITION (TP) SENSOR in the ADJUSTMENTS article in this section.
  3. On manual transaxle models, adjust throttle switch. See THROTTLE SWITCH in the ADJUSTMENTS article in this section. Reconnect negative battery cable. Pressurize fuel system, and check for leaks.
