Injector (TBI): Removal
- Relieve fuel system pressure. See FUEL PRESSURE RELEASE . Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove air cleaner assembly and mounting bracket. Remove the injector cover and upper insulator. See Figure .
- Remove 2 screws and injector cover with electrical connector from TBI. See Fig 1 . Slide injector harness grommet from throttle body, and remove injector.
- If injector is difficult to remove, place shop towel over injector. Apply less than 70 psi (4.9 kg/cm2 ) of compressed air into fuel inlet port of throttle body to remove injector. DO NOT soak injector in any type of solvent or cleaner. Injector is NOT serviceable.

To prevent personal injury and damage to injector, DO NOT
use more than 70 psi (4.9 kg/cm2
) to remove injector.
