Wipers Operate; Wiper Switch Turned Off

  1. Turn ignition on. Using test light, probe Blue/Red wire at wiper motor connector. If test light does not come on, go to next step. If test light comes on, check for short to battery voltage in Blue/Red wire between combination switch and wiper motor. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is okay, replace combination switch.
  2. Turn ignition to lock. Unplug wiper motor connector. Check Blue wire at wiper motor connector. If test light comes on, replace combination switch. If test light does not come on replace wiper motor.
NOTE: The following procedure is used only on vehicles equipped with pulse (intermittent) wiper system.
