Clearing Codes

NOTE: EBCM will not permit clearing of codes until all DTCs have been displayed. DTCs cannot be cleared by disconnecting ECBM, battery terminals or turning ignition switch to LOCK position.

TECH-1 scan tester must be used to clear DTCs by selecting "F2" for trouble codes. After viewing all DTCs, scan tester will prompt "Clear Codes?". Hit "Yes" and scan tester will then read "History Data Will Be Lost. Clear Codes?". Hit "Yes" again and DTCs will be cleared.

Although not an acceptable method for clearing trouble codes, DTCs will also clear after 100 DTC free drive cycles. A drive cycle occurs when ignition is turned on and vehicle is driven at greater than 10 MPH.
