Clutch Assembly: Installation
- Position clutch disc and pressure plate on flywheel using Clutch Centering Tool (J-34860 ). Clutch disc is installed with damper springs facing toward transaxle.
- Install pressure plate bolts, and tighten evenly to avoid clutch distortion. Lightly lubricate release bearing sliding surfaces and input shaft with grease.
- To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten all nuts and bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS at end of article. Fill transaxle with 75W GL-5 Fluid (12345349 ).

- Use clutch centering tool to center clutch disc on flywheel. Tighten pressure plate bolts alternately and evenly in a diagonal pattern to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS at end of article.
- Apply grease to release fork contact surfaces, release bearing and hub. Lightly lubricate clutch disc splines using GM P/N 1051344 lubricant. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
- Use clutch centering tool to center clutch disc on flywheel. Tighten pressure plate bolts alternately and evenly in a diagonal pattern to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS at end of article. Start with bolt near 3 upper dowel pins.
- Apply grease to release fork contact surfaces, release bearing and hub. Lightly lubricate clutch disc splines using GM P/N 1051344 lubricant. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
