Diagnostic Aids

A loose or damaged crank angle sensor could cause an intermittent code. A misaligned crank angle sensor or improper air gap could also set a Code 42. If code is intermittent, refer to TESTS W/O CODES article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section. For crank angle sensor specifications, refer to I - SYS/COMP TESTS article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section.
