Blower Motor Inoperative
- Turn ignition on. Disconnect blower motor connector. Connect a voltmeter between body ground and check Blue wire at blower motor for battery voltage. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, repair open in Blue wire between fuse block and blower motor.
- Turn ignition off. Turn blower fan to high. Disconnect blower motor connector. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance from blower motor connector terminal No. 2 (Black/Blue) wire to body ground. If resistance is more than .3 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is less than .3 ohms, replace blower motor.
- Using an ohmmeter, backprobe blower resistor connector Black/Blue wire to ground. If resistance is more than .3 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is less than .3 ohms, repair open in Black/Blue wire between blower motor resistor and blower motor.
- Using an ohmmeter, backprobe blower Blue/Red wire at resistor connector to ground, if resistance is more than .3 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is less than .3 ohms, replace blower resistor.
- Using an ohmmeter, backprobe blower fan switch connector Blue/Red wire to ground. If resistance is more than .3 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is less than .3 ohms, repair open in Blue/Red wire between blower fan switch and blower resistor.
- Using an ohmmeter, backprobe blower fan switch connector C1 (Black wire) to ground connection (located behind right kick panel). If resistance is more than .3 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is less than .3 ohms, replace blower fan switch.
- Using an ohmmeter, backprobe blower fan switch connector C2 (Black wire) to ground. If resistance is more than .3 ohms, repair Black wire between fan switch and ground connection (located behind right kick panel). If resistance is less than .3 ohms, repair Black wire between fan switch connectors C1 and C2.
