Ignition Switch/Steering Lock: Removal

Manufacturer's procedure is with steering column removed for steering lock service. Remove steering column. See STEERING COLUMN under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
Using center punch, mark center of retaining bolts from steering lock assembly. See Figure and Figure . Drill hole in retaining bolts and remove bolts using bolt extractor. Remove steering lock assembly.
If lock cylinder is to be removed, place ignition in ACC position. Push downward on lock pin on top of steering lock housing. Remove lock cylinder.
