Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor (Metro)

  1. Disconnect and remove MAP sensor. Connect three 1.5-volt batteries in series to create a battery pack. Ensure that 4.5-5.0 volts is present in battery pack. See Fig 1 .
  2. Connect positive terminal of battery pack to "Voltage In" terminal of sensor. Connect negative terminal of battery pack to "Ground" terminal of sensor. Check voltage between "Voltage Out" and "Ground" terminals of sensor. Connect vacuum pump to sensor vacuum nipple. Apply vacuum to ensure voltage drops as vacuum increases.
