Chart A-5, Fuel Injector & Circuit Check Engine Will Not Start)

When solenoid coil of the injector is turned on by ECM, it will activate the plunger and fuel under pressure will be ejected. Fuel pump will operate as long as engine is cranking and ECM is receiving starter reference pulses.

NOTE: Test numbers refer to test numbers on diagnostic chart.
  1. Injector should operate when engine is cranked.
  2. Test for an open between fuel injector connector and injector.
  3. Check for an open between ECM connector and injector connector.
  4. Checks for defective injector or improper fuel pressure.
