Vehicle Speed Sensor (Metro & Prizm)

Vehicle speed sensor consists of a lead switch and magnet built into speedometer. As the magnet turns with the speedometer cable, its magnetic force causes lead switch to turn "ON" and "OFF". This (on/off) pulse is sent to ECM and interpreted as vehicle speed. ECM uses this signal to help determine control of idle speed control solenoid.
