Removal and Installation

Ignition coil (Cylinder #1, #3, #5) 

  1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
  2. Remove the engine cover.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE COVER ")

  3. Remove the RH air cleaner assembly.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "AIR CLEANER ")

  4. Disconnect the ignition coil connectors (A).
  5. Remove the ignition coil after loosening the mounting bolts (B).

    Tightening torque:  9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb-ft)

    NOTE:
    • When removing the ignition coil connector, pull the lock pin (A) and push the clip (B).

  6. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Ignition coil (Cylinder #2, #4, #6) 

  1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
  2. Remove the engine cover.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE COVER ")

  3. Remove the LH air cleaner assembly.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "AIR CLEANER ")

  4. Disconnect the ignition coil connectors (A).
  5. Remove the ignition coil after loosening the mounting bolts (B).

    Tightening torque:  9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb-ft)

  6. Install in the reverse order of removal.
