Repair Procedures: Replacement

CAUTION:
  • When removing with a flat-tip screwdriver or remover, wrap protective tape around the tools to prevent damage to components.
  • Put on gloves to prevent hand injuries.
  • Use a plastic panel removal tool to remove interior trim pieces without marring the surface.
  • Take care not to bend or scratch the trim and panels.
  1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
  2. Remove the floor console assembly.

    (Refer to Floor Console - "FLOOR CONSOLE ASSEMBLY ")

  3. Using a flat-tip screwdriver or remover and remove the crash pad side cover (A).

  4. Using a flat-tip screwdriver or remover and remove the front door scuff trim (A).

  5. After loosening the hood hinge (A) mounting bolts, remove the hood assembly (B).

  6. Remove the cowl side trim (A).

  7. Loosen the mounting screws and remove the crash pad lower panel (A).

  8. Press the lock pin and separate the connector (A).

  10. Using a remover, remove the cluster fascia upper garnish (A).

  11. Loosen the mounting screws and remove the cluster fascia panel & steering column shroud upper panel assembly (A).

  12. Loosen the mounting screws and remove the cluster assembly (A).

  13. Separate the connector and remove cluster assembly.

  14. Remove the head up display (HUD) unit.

    (Refer to Body Electrical System - "HEAD UP DISPLAY UNIT ")

  15. Remove the steering wheel.

    (Refer to Steering System - "STEERING WHEEL ")

  16. Remove the multifunction switch assembly.

    (Refer to Body Electrical System - "MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH ")

  17. Loosen the mounting screws by turning the steering wheel to the left and right, and remove the steering column shroud lower panel (A).

  18. Press the lock pin and separate the connector (A).

  19. Remove the glove box.

    (Refer to Crash Pad - "GLOVE BOX ")

  20. Remove the crash pad side cover [RH].

    (Refer to Crash Pad - "CRASH PAD SIDE COVER ")

  21. Loosen the mounting screws and remove the crash pad garnish [RH] (A).

  22. Separate the start button connector (A).

  32. Using a flat-tip screwdriver, remove the crash pad under cover and then separate the foot lamp connector (A).

  33. Loosen the mounting screws and nut, remove the crash pad center panel [LH] (A).

  34. Press the lock pin, separate the in-car sensor (A) and crash pad mood lamp connector (B).

  35. Remove the crash pad upper garnish.

  36. Loosen the mounting screws and remove the front monitor (A).

  37. Separate the connectors and then remove the front monitor.

  38. Remove the cluster speaker (A) and center speaker (B).

  40. Remove the clip (A) attached to the crash pad upper garnish and disconnect the security sensor connector (B).

  41. Loosen the mounting screws, remove the AVN head unit (A).

  42. Separate the AVN head unit connectors (A).

  43. Remove the front pillar trim [LH, RH] (A).

  44. Loosen the airbag mounting bolts (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    16.7 - 25.5 N.m (1.7 - 2.6 kgf.m, 12.3 - 18.8 lb-ft)

  45. Loosen the mounting bolts, nuts and remove the main crash pad assembly (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    16.7 - 25.5 N.m (1.7 - 2.6 kgf.m, 12.3 - 18.8 lb-ft)

  46. Press the lock pin and separate the passenger airbag module connector (A).

  47. To install, reverse removal procedure.

    Information 

    • Make sure the crash pad fits onto the guide pins correctly.
    • Before tightening the bolts, make sure the crash pad wire harnesses are not pinched.
    • Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly, and the antenna lead is connected properly.
    • Make sure that each of the assembly components operates properly.
    • Replace any damaged clips (or pin-typ retainers).
