Removal And Installation

  1. Disconnect the 12V battery negative (-) terminal.
  2. Loosen the front wheel nuts slightly.

    Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.

    CAUTION:
    • When lifting a vehicle using a lift, be careful not to damage the lower parts of the vehicle (floor under cover, battery)

      (Refer to General Information - "LIFT AND SUPPORT POINTS ")

  3. Remove the front wheel and tire.

    (Refer to Tires/Wheels - "WHEEL ")

  4. Remove the front axle.

    (Refer to Driveshaft and axle - "FRONT AXLE ASSEMBLY ")

  5. Separate the front strut assembly and stabilizer link after removing the mounting nut (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    98.1 - 117.7 N.m (10.0 - 12.0 kgf.m, 72.3 - 86.8 lb-ft)

  6. Remove the PE module side cover (A).

  7. Remove the LH side cover (A).

  8. Remove service cover (A).

  9. Remove the cap (B) after disconnecting the continuously variable damping control connector (A)

  10. Remove the front strut assembly after removing the front strut upper mounting nuts (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    53.9 - 73.5 N.m (5.5 - 7.5 kgf.m, 39.8 - 54.2 lb-ft)

    NOTE:
    • When tightening the front strut upper mounting nuts, tighten them in empty vehicle state.
    • Do not reuse the mounting nut.
  11. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  12. Check the alignment.

    (Refer to Tires/Wheels - "ALIGNMENT ")
