FPM Sensor Touch Check
This feature is to check the status of fingerprint recognition when recognition often fails although there are no issues on the parts.
By checking the contact area and condition of the fingerprint, the driver is able to figure out the efficient approach to recognizing fingerprint.
- Connect the diagnostic device to the connector (16 pins) under the crash pad of the driver seat. Start the motor (IGN ON) and turn on the diagnostic device.
- Select "S/W Management," then "Fingerprint Module."
- Select "FPM Sensor Touch Check".
Information
- Good
- BAD
NOTE:
- Closer the fingerprint (surface) area is to 100%, the easier the system is to recognize fingerprint.
- Position the finger to the center of the sensor to get the fingerprint (surface) area as closer as 100%.
- Close the image quality is to 100%, the easier the system is to recognize fingerprint.
- Any deformation in fingerprint or dry skin will lower the image quality.
- Explain based on below table.
| Category | Definition | Fingerprint re-registration required | Resolve | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Criteria | Reason | |||
| Fingerprint area | The ratio of captured fingerprint area per the scanner area. | Sensor area: under 50% | When the fingerprint is not laid on the center of the scanner. | Adjust the location of the finger on the scanner to get closer to 100%. |
| Fingerprint image quality | Quality of fingerprint image which was captured via scanner during the registration. | Fingerprint image: under 70% | When the fingerprint is deformed, damaged, or the hand is too dry. | Use the fingerprint that are not deformed or damaged. Keep the hand moisture. (Closer the 100%, easier the recognition.) |
