Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
  2. Loosen the wheel nuts slightly.

    Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.

  3. Remove the front wheel and tire (A) from front hub.

    Tightening torque: 

    137.3 - 156.9 N.m (14.0 - 16.0 kgf.m, 101.3 - 115.7 lb-ft)

    NOTE:
    • Safely remove the wheel and tire (A) using the guide bolt included in the Tire Mobility Kit (TMK).

    • Be careful not to damage the hub bolts when removing the front wheel and tire (A).

  4. Remove the under cover.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")

  5. Loosen the nut (A) and then remove the stabilizer link.

    Tightening torque: 

    98.1 - 117.7 N.m (10.0 - 12.0 kgf.m, 72.3 - 86.8 lb-ft)

    NOTE:
    • When loosening the nut, fix the outer hexagon of stabilizer bar link.
    • Be careful not to damage the stabilizer link boots.

  6. Remove the side cover (A).

  7. Disconnect the R-MDPS connector (A).

  8. Loosen the bolts (A) and then remove the stabilizer bar from the front cross member.

    Tightening torque: 

    49.0 - 63.7 N.m (5.0 - 6.5 kgf.m, 36.2 - 47.0 lb-ft)
