Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Release the residual pressure in fuel line.

    (Refer to Fuel Delivery System - "RELEASE RESIDUAL PRESSURE IN FUEL LINE ")

  2. Switch "OFF" the ignition and disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
  3. Remove the air cleaner.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "AIR CLEANER ")

  4. Remove the engine cover.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE COVER ")

  5. After loosening the mounting bolts, then remove the high pressure fuel pump cover and form (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb-ft)

  6. Disconnect the fuel pressure regulating valve connector (A).

  7. Remove the RH injector form.
  8. After loosening the high pressure fuel pipe function block mounting bolt (C) and the flange nuts (B), remove the high pressure fuel pipe (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    [Function block] 9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb-ft)

    [Flange nut] 29.4 - 34.3 N.m (3.0 - 3.5 kgf.m, 21.7 - 25.3 lb.ft)

  9. Disconnect the fuel feed quick-connector (B). [High Pressure Fuel Pump ↔ Engine Room]

    NOTE:
    • Open the clamp cover (A) before disconnect the quick connector. (If the clip is applied)

    • When removing the quick-connnector with the clip removing tool (A), be careful not to damage the plastic clip (B).
    • If the clip is damaged, fuel line leak can be occurred due to a bad connection.

  10. After loosening the mounting bolts, remove the high pressure fuel pump (A) and disconnect the fuel pressure control valve connector.

    Tightening torque 

    12.7 - 14.7 N.m (1.3 - 1.5 kgf.m, 9.4 - 10.8 lb-ft)
