Removal & Installation
- Turn the ignition switch OFF.
- Remove the luggage mat.
(Refer to Body - "COMPONENTS & COMPONENTS LOCATION ")
- Remove the battery service cover (A).
- Disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal (A).
Tightening torque:
5.9 - 11.8 N.m (0.6 - 1.2 kgf.m, 4.3 - 8.7 lb-ft)
- Disconnect the battery positive (+) terminal (A).
Tightening torque:
7.8 - 9.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.0 kgf.m, 5.8 - 7.2 lb-ft)
- Disconnect the vent hose (A).
- Remove the battery mounting bracket (A).
- remove the battery.
Tightening torque:
27.4 - 33.3 N.m (2.8 - 3.4 kgf.m, 20.2 - 24.5 lb-ft)
AGM Battery Charging
Information
- Check the battery charge state, and then charging the battery if require charging.
NOTE:
- The battery temperature should be maintaining at 20°C - 30°C (68°F - 86°F) while the battery charging.
IU or WU Charging Method
IU or WU Charging Voltage: 14.7 V [20°C - 30°C (68°F - 86°F)] approx. 24 hr.
Min Charging Voltage [20°C (68°F)]: 14.4 V
Max Charging Voltage [20°C (68°F)]: 14.8 V
Recommend 10% capacity of charging current (ex. 60 Ah: 100% = Charging current 6.0 A)
WARNING:
- Do not charge the battery more than 15.2V.
- Do not rapid charge the battery.
- Do not open the AGM battery upper case.
NOTE:
- If the battery is charged directly at the battery terminals on vehicles with battery sensor, misinterpretations of battery condition and under certain circumstances also unwanted Check Control messages or fault memory entire can occur.
- After recharging finished, let the battery stand for over 10 hours with normal temperature for battery stabilization.
