Removal And Installation
- Disconnect the battery negative cable from the battery and then wait for at least 30 seconds.
- Turn the steering wheel so that the front wheels are placed in the straight ahead position.
- Remove the airbag module.
(Refer to Restraint - "DRIVER AIRBAG (DAB) MODULE AND CLOCK SPRING ")
- Remove the steering wheel by loosening the mounting bolt.
Tightening Torques:
39.2 - 49.0 N.m (4.0 - 5.0 kgf.m, 28.9 - 36.2 lb-ft)
NOTE:- Do not use a hammer to remove the steering wheel, it may damage the steering column.
- When installing, do not reuse the steering lock bolt.
- When assembling, match the gear teeth as shown in the figure below.
- Remove the upper shroud (A) and then remove the lower shroud (B) by loosening the screw.
- Remove the clock spring (A) after removing connectors.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Conduct the "ASP Calibration".
