Repair Procedures: Replacement
CAUTION:
- Put on gloves to prevent hand injuries.
NOTE:
- When removing with a flat-tip screwdriver or remover, wrap protective tape around the tools to prevent damage to components.
- When removing the interior trim pieces, use a plastic panel removal tool not to damage the surface.
- Take care not to bend or scratch the trim and panels.
- Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Recover the refrigerant with a recovery/recycling/charging station.
- When the engine is cool, drain the engine coolant from the radiator.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "COOLANT ")
- Remove the main crash pad assembly
(Refer to Crash Pad - "MAIN CRASH PAD ASSEMBLY ")
- Detach the various connector of steering column.
(Refer to Steering System - "STEERING COLUMN AND SHAFT ")
- Loosen the front mounting nut and penetration bolt and lower the steering column.
(Refer to Steering System - "STEERING COLUMN AND SHAFT ")
- Using the screwdriver or remover, remove the front door scuff trim (A).
- Remove the hood latch release handle.
(Refer to hood - "HOOD LATCH RELEASE HANDLE ")
- Using the screwdriver or remover, remove the cowl side trim (A).
- Detach the various connector of front pillar (A).

[Passenger]
- Disconnect the junction box connectors (A).
- Disconnect the multi box connectors (A).
[Driver]
[Passenger]
- Remove the accel pedal plug hole (A).
- Loosening the mounting bolt and nut, remove the accel pedal (A).
- Detach the accel pedal connector (A).
- Remove the rear air duct (B) and remove the floor carpet (A) from the rear.
- Disconnect the airbag control module (SRSCM) connector (A).
- Spread the front tunnel pad (A) in the direction of the arrow.

- Remove the rear air duct (A).
- Detach the rear monitor connector (A), remove the various clips and remove the wiring harness (B).NOTE:
- Take care not to change the left and right side of the connector (C).
- Disconnect the heater & blower unit connectors.
[Driver]
- Press the lock pin, detach the console ON/OFF actuator connector (A), loosening the mounting screws, remove the console ON/OFF actuator.
- Loosening the mounting screw, remove the driver shower duct (A).
- Press the lock pin, detach the ADS actuator connector (A) and driver thermostatic actuator connector (B).
- Press the lock pin, detach the driver mode control actuator connector (A) and connector (B).
[Passenger]
- Loosening the mounting screw, remove the passenger shower duct (A).
- Press the lock pin, detach the console mode control actuator connector (A) and console thermostatic actuator connector (B).
- Press the lock pin, detach the console thermostatic actuator connector (A).
- Press the lock pin, detach the warm bypass actuator connector (A).
- Press the lock pin, detach the passenger thermostatic actuator connector (A).
- Press the lock pin, detach the power mosfet connector (A).
- Press the lock pin, detach the vent actuator connector (A).
- Press the lock pin, detach the passenger mode control actuator connector (A).
- Press the lock pin, detach the inlet actuator connector (A).
- Press the lock pin, detach the blower motor connector (A).
- Loosening the IBU mounting bolt and nut, detach the connector (A), remove the IBU unit (B).
- Press the lock pin, detach the console ON/OFF actuator connector (A), loosening the mounting screws, remove the console ON/OFF actuator.
- Loosening the cowl cross bar side mounting bolt (B) after loosening the plug hole (A).
Tightening torque: 16.7 - 25.5 N.m (1.7 - 2.6 kgf.m, 12.3 - 18.8 lb-ft)
- Loosening the mounting nuts, remove the wiper arm (A).
Tightening torque: 22.6 - 26.5 N.m (2.3 - 2.7 kgf.m, 16.6 - 19.5 lb-ft)
- Detach the washer nozzle (A).
- Detach the mounting clips, remove the cowl top cover (B).
- Loosening the mounting bolt, remove the strut bar assembly (A).
- Press the lock pin, detach the wiper motor connector (A), Loosening the mounting bolt, remove the wiper motor assembly (B).
- Loosening the bolts mounted cowl cross bar and nuts mounted on the heater & blower unit, remove the cowl crossbar assembly (A).
Tightening torque: 16.7 - 25.5 N.m (1.7 - 2.6 kgf.m, 12.3 - 18.8 lb-ft)
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
Information
- Make sure the crash pad fits onto the guide pins correctly.
- Before tightening the bolts, make sure the crash pad wire harnesses are not pinched.
- Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly, and the antenna lead is connected properly.
- Enter the anti-theft code for the radio, then enter the customer's radio station presets.
- Make sure that each of the assembly components operates properly.
- Replace any damaged clips (pin-type retainers).
