Check Short To Ground In Circuit
- Ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect the alternator and ECM connector.
- Measure the resistance between the signal terminal of Alternator harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification: Infinite ∞Ω
- Is the measured resistance within specification?
YES
- Substitute with a known - good alternator and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace alternator and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR ".
NO
- Repair or replace as necessary and then, go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR ".
