Monitor DTC Status

  1. Plug GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC).
  2. Turn "ON" the ignition switch.
  3. Select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)," and click "DTC Status" to check DTC information.
  4. Read the "DTC State" parameter.
  5. Record all DTCs, DTC state and freeze frame data. Is the DTC State "Present?"
    NOTE:
    • History (Not Present) state: the DTC set but has been cleared.
    • Present state: the DTC is active at present time.

    YES 

    • Go to next procedure.

    NO 

    • Fault can be caused by poor connection or when ESP (ESC) memory was not cleared after it was repaired. Clear the DTC and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
