Repair Procedures: Replacement: [4WD]

Loosen the wheel nuts slightly. Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.
Remove the front wheel and tire (A) from the front hub

NOTE: Be careful not to damage the hub bolts when removing the front wheel and tire.
Remove the brake caliper assembly.
(Refer to Brake System - "FRONT DISC BRAKE ")

Loosen the driveshaft caulking nut (A) and then remove the brake disc by loosening the screw (B-3EA).

Tightening Torque

274.6 - 294.2 N.m (28.0 - 30.0 kgf.m, 202.5 - 217.1 lb-ft)
4.9 - 5.9 N.m (0.5 - 0.6 kgf.m, 3.6 - 4.3 lb-ft)

NOTE:

The front hub lock nut (A) should be replaced with new ones.

After installation lock nut, stake the lock nut using a chisel and hammer as displayed in the image below.

Caulking Depth : 1.5 mm (0.591 in.)

Remove the wheel speed sensor by loosening the wheel speed sensor bracket bolt (A) and wheel speed sensor mounting bolt (B).
Tightening Torque:

6.9 - 10.8 N.m (0.7 - 1.1 kgf.m, 5.1 - 8.0 lb-ft)

Remove the tie rod end ball joint from the knuckle.
1. Remove the split pin.
2. Remove the castle nut.
3. Disconnect the ball joint (A) from knuckle (B) using the special tool (09568-2J100).
  Tightening Torque:
  
  88.3 - 107.9 N.m (9.0 - 11.0 kgf.m, 65.1 - 79.6 lb-ft)

Using the special tool (09568-2J100), remove the compression arm from the knuckle.
Tightening Torque:

88.3 - 107.9 N.m (9.0 - 11.0 kgf.m, 65.1 - 79.6 lb-ft)

Loosen the nut and using the special tool (09568-2J100), remove the lateral arm from the knuckle.
Tightening Torque:

88.3 - 107.9 N.m (9.0 - 11.0 kgf.m, 65.1 - 79.6 lb-ft)

Using the special tool (09568-2J100), separate the upper arm from the knuckle and then remove the knuckle assembly.
Tightening Torque:

78.5 - 88.3 N.m (8.0 - 9.0 kgf.m, 57.9 - 65.1 lb-ft)

Using a plastic hammer, disconnect driveshaft (A) from the axle hub (B).

Loosen the hub mounting bolt and then remove the hub assembly (B) from the knuckle (A).
Tightening Torque:

88.3 - 107.9 N.m (9.0 - 11.0 kgf.m, 65.1 - 79.6 lb-ft)

Loosen the bolt and then remove the dust cover (A).
Tightening Torque:

6.9 - 10.8 N.m (0.7 - 1.1 kgf.m, 5.1 - 8.0 lb-ft)

Install in the reverse order of removal.
NOTE: Use a SST (09581-11000) when installing the brake caliper assembly.

Check the front alignment.
