Oil Pressure Sensor Check

  1. IG "OFF".
  2. Connect probe to signal terminal of oil temperature & pressure sensor.
  3. Start the engine.
  4. Measure voltage at signal terminal of the oil temperature & pressure sensor with changing RPM.

    Specification:  Voltage should goes up with engine RPM increased

  5. Is the measured voltage normal?

    YES 

    • Substitute with a known - good ECM (PCM) and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace ECM (PCM) and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

    NO 

    • Substitute with a known - good oil pressure sensor and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace oil pressure sensor and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
