Repair Procedures: Installation

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
CAUTION:
1. Before reassembling the automatic transaxle to the engine assembly, make sure that there is no gap (A) between automatic transaxle and engine assembly below image. Do not reassemble the automatic transaxle to the engine assembly when this gap (A) exist.

2. While there is a gap, It would be meaning that the key of oil pump gear is not assembled properly to the torque converter hub. In this case, remove the automatic transaxle assembly and then reinstall the torque converter to automatic transaxle assembly according to the key shape of oil pump gear.

3. If the mounting bolt is tightened forcibly in spite of a gap, key of oil pump gear will be damaged or broken. In this case, replace the automatic transaxle assembly.
NOTE: After replacement or reinstallation procedure of the automatic transmission assembly, perform the procedures below.
- After fluid (ATF) level checking, refill the automatic transaxle with fluid (ATF). (Refer to Hydraulic System - "FLUID ")
- Clear the diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) using the GDS. The DTCs are not cleared even by disconnecting the battery negative terminal.
- Reset the automatic transaxle adaptive values using the GDS.

- After exchanging automatic transmission, input the EOL (End of line). (Refer to automatic transmission system - "REPAIR PROCEDURES ")
- Perform the TCM adaptive values learning procedure.
  (Refer to Automatic Transaxle Control System - "REPAIR PROCEDURES ")
In case of the reinstallation.
1. Check the ATF level after refilling the automatic transmission with fluid. (Refer to Hydraulic System - "FLUID ")
2. Clear the diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) using the GDS.
  Information
  - Even though disconnecting the battery negative terminal, the DTCs will not be cleared. So, be sure to clear the DTCs using the GDS.
In case of the replacing with a new automatic transmission.
NOTE:
- New automatic transmission is already filled with specified quantity ATF.
- For that reason, it does not necessary to refill and check the ATF but the remaining ATF inside of ATF cooler have to be removed.
1. Clear the diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) using the GDS.
  Information
  - Even though disconnecting the battery negative terminal, the DTCs will not be cleared. So, be sure to clear the DTCs using the GDS.
2. Reset the automatic transmission adaptive values using the GDS.

3. Perform the oil pressure characteristics input procedure.
  - If you can access the Internet, perform the oil pressure characteristics input procedure using the GDS.

  - If you can not access the Internet, record the bar code data (oil pressure characteristics) on the automatic transmission case and then input it manually onto the GDS.

4. Perform the TCM adaptive values learning procedure.
  (Refer to Automatic Transmission Control System - "REPAIR PROCEDURES ")
