Circuit/System Description

The X98 Battery Charger Coupler contains up to 4 temperature sensors for the AC Charging terminals (Region specific). In Regions with single phase AC charging there is a sensor for Line 1 and for the Neutral terminals. In Regions with 3 phase AC charging there are additional sensors for Line 2 and Line 3 terminals. In order to diagnose issues with the sensors, the K16A Battery Energy Control Module 1compares values between the temperature sensors to determine if there are any issues with the X98 Battery Charger Coupler. If the K16A Battery Energy Control Module 1 detects an issue, such as overheating, it may disable AC charging when the DTC set or may derate charging just prior to DTC setting. for an overview of the component/system, refer to: Hybrid/EV Cooling System Description and Operation
