Component Testing

Engine Compartment Cover Switch Hood Status B Signal

1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off
2. Disconnect the electrical connector: B55 Engine Compartment Cover Switch.
3. Test for 1605 to 1635 Ω between the test points: Signal terminal 2 & Ground terminal 3 - The switch is in the open position.
   • If not in the specified range 

     Replace the component: B55 Engine Compartment Cover Switch.

   • Go to next step: If in the specified range 
4. Test for 6700 to 6750 Ω between the test points: Signal terminal 2 & Ground terminal 3 - The switch is in the closed position.
   • If not in the specified range 

     Replace the component: B55 Engine Compartment Cover Switch.

   • Go to next step: If in the specified range 
5. All OK.
