Preliminary Procedure Power Transfer Unit Heat Shield Replacement
1	Power Transfer Unit Shift Actuator Bolt [4x] CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . Tighten 9 N.m (80 lb in)
2	Power Transfer Unit Shift Actuator NOTE: Place the vehicle in AWD prior to disassembly. The shift fork must be lined up with the shift collar when it is installed. Procedure Disconnect the electrical connectors.
3	Power Transfer Unit Shift Actuator Seal Procedure Remove and DISCARD Fill the transmission to the correct level using the proper fluid. Transmission Fluid Drain and Fill , or Transmission Fluid Drain and Fill Verify power transfer unit fluid level is at the correct level and adjust as necessary.
